I have a red lump maybe a cyst not a boil just on the inside my butt cheeks. It is sore and oval in shape and it iis getting a bit difficult to sit down.I had the same thing a few months ago but it was not sore, it almost went away but now is back bigger then ever.I dont want to flash my butt to my doctor and was hoping that someone else might have had the same thing and might be able to tell me what it might be and how to treat it.Hope someone can help me.
Hugs to all Kay

Hi krazy!
I get boils in places I don't want my doctor looking at, so I know how you feel. If what you have is a boil, though, you do need to have it looked at because of where it is. Boils between the cheeks almost always require medical attention to get better.
The fact that it is painful and making it difficult for you to sit down should send you to the doctor, even if it isn't a boil. Have it looked at. Being embarrassed for a few minutes is better than being in pain for days on end. (No pun intended!) :wink2:

A cyst is not usually sore....could be an infected hair follicle or a deep pimple type...I had something like that last summer, it ended being an infection in the hair follicle...and antibiotics took it away....I was scared of some disease I picked up at the beach or something....but has to do with the oil glands and stuff....did you ever start to get one of them huge hidden pimples that raises like a cyst, hurt like heck when it gets big...but then just goes away?....did you look at it using a mirror?...my sore eventually opened...that is how we knew it was infected....they cultured it....good luck...i hope it just goes away and never returns...

Hi
At the start of this year i found out i had whats called a pilonidal abscess which was between the butt cheeks, it was very painful and made it very difficult to sit, walk etc because it was so infected.
I would really recomend that you see a doctor as soon as possible to get it checked out because if it is infected its just going to get more painful.:(
I too didnt want to see a doc at the time but in the end the pain was that bad i had no choice!
Take care

I have to agree with the others. An infection that is allowed to fester and go on untreated can make you SERIOUSLY SICK. That includes infections in places we don't enjoy displaying.
Since it is under the skin, there is a possibility that it will need to be opened so that the infection can drain out and the skin heal up starting at the inside layers. If it is just left closed, it is likely to not entirely resolve and can keep you feeling unwell for a long period of time.
I actually had an abscess near that area that within a week made it necessary for me to be hospitalized. I was feverish, vomiting, had loose stools, all from a skin infection on my rear end! Ended up on intravenous antibiotics after having the infection opened and drained. It was pretty amazing how quickly my fever and other symptoms resolved once the boil was drained.
I hope you get this seen about in the next day or two.

Thanks everyone for your advice looks like you all agree that I will have to flash my butt to my doctor.lol.I have been putting salt just normal table salt in the bath and it seems to be helping a bit, hears hoping anyway.I will see how it goes and if it isnt getting any better I will take myself off to the doc.
Lots of hugs '''''''soft ones '''''''' from Kay :hehe:

I get those periodically, I did show my gyne once and she told me that it was a sebaceuos cyst. I am not 100% (bad memory) but I do think she gave me some antibiotics. Let me tell you after showing things to the docs a couple of times, the embarrassment will go away and the neccessity will kick in. Although, my rheumy looked at my vaginal ulcers and then said, I normally don't do this, which made it even more embarrassing!

Hi Kay:)
(((((Hugs))))). Its very painful and very embarrassing having lumps in places we would rather not display to anyone:sad: However, what Lullrich says sounds about right. It could very well be a sebaceous cyst and there are very common in areas around the butt and vaginal areas. I have had them near my vagina and they are very painful. My doctor prescribed me anti biotic cream and it worked brilliantly.
If it helps any, I drew a deep breath, marched into my doctor and said 'before I say a word I want to tell you what I have. I am going to describe it perfectly in all its glory but Im not going to show it to you!' He just laughed and listened. He didnt ask to see it, but I did have to run the risk that he would! :wink2:
And Lullrich....what an insensitive cretin of a rheumy to say that to you:mad: As if you werent embarrassed enough:mad: Its a pity you didnt think to retort: "That makes two of us so"
(((((Hugs to you both)))))
Luv n stuff

I had the same thing - crops of huge pimple/boil type things on my butt. I had to take antibiotics for a while to clear them up - from memory it was a course of regular strength anti-b's followed by a longish period on low dose anti-b's.
Yep, you've got some butt flashing ahead of you girl !

Hi Krazy, and a very warm welcome to this site. First, you are not krazy. Second, you need a referral to be seen by a "Gastro-Interologist" (sp), and you must do it A.S.A.P.
Something like this cannot wait, and you won't be showing them anything that they haven't seen before. This is probably something that can be fixed quite easily, but I cannot express to you enough the urgency of getting this taken care of. Please let us
know your progress on this, we are here because we care about you.:wink2:

Hello all,
I to get those wonderful things. I have been getting them for about 12 years and mine have never gone away. I have shown them to docs but they never say anything, although I guess I should have said "Get it off, Get it off". No such luck. I thought they could come from a staph infection, but I don't know. I wish you luck.
