I've been sick with lupus for quite some time now and until a year ago they had no clue what was wrong with me, so obviously it has already done some damage to my body. I've been taking hydroxychloroquine since last year and they put me on prednisone at the end of august because all my hair was falling out and my legs hurt so bad, and that helped TREMENDOUSLY only downside is I throw up every now and then and I gained 20 pounds, but the pain has lighten immensly I'd recommend it to anyone. But I feel at a loss in school, it's difficult competing with people who are in picture perfect health in college, and I've worked with most of my professors to get extensions and extra time off, but it is still so hard on my body and the stress of it all just makes me feel even sicker. They've been testing me for pericarditis and i've already got pulmonary hypertension and it's just constant chronic pain. Its like seriously ENOUGH ALREADY.

I'm just in the mood to complain today and I was hoping someone out there knows exactly how this feels, I'd love to speak with anyone who is going through a similar situation, venting about it always seems to lighten the load.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

heya...i am not dx yet but i feel i can understand how you feel...im in so much pain all the time and not on meds or anything yet and it is soooooooooo hard...being our age there is so much competition to get the highest grades and be in every club and do every sport just so we can get into a good uni and then do extra work so we can get the best placements and jobs...and it does feel unfair because we're ill we cant do a million things like everyone else does. So yeah its ok to complain and theres loads of us on here who understand..chin up xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
