Liver problems possible??

Hiya guys!

It's me again!!!!, i've not been well again this, last week i was soooo weak on Friday of last week i could pick a brush up to brush my hair, i slept the most of Friday away and the weekend, Saturday night i started with a real bad cold!

On friday i went to the doctors with a bloated tummy and a really full feeling which i'd been experiencing but not eating enough to feel so full, and i had real bad pain in my hands and they were red and puffy!!! xxx

The doctor told me to go home and take ibuprofen over the weekend and if it the same on monday to go back and they will do a blood test to make sure my liver's functioning correctly.

How does a liver problem relate to bloating and swollen fingers!?? xxx and if it is a liver problem is it easily cured! xxx

i have hepatitis C, which as you may know is a blood disease which affects the liver and you go thru 4 stages of liver damage, hep c has no known cure and in most cases is fatal, though they say it can take a life time to get to the final stage. but other than cancer of the liver most things can be fixed. the liver is one organ that can regenerate, meaning if something you doing or taking is causing the problem once you stop it your liver should return to normal.

as to does it cause bloating and swelling i think its yes
if your liver isn't filtering toxins than i will build up and cause swelling in abdomin(sp) and possibley hands, i know i did.

there is also something with lupus that causes some type of hepatitis but i don't know exactly how that works

i hope this helps some, i'm not a doctor so this could all be for not. just keep checking your liver functions and the doctor will know what to do.

So Sorry to hear you feeling so unwell.

I had Liver problems in Feb this year for a few months, they called it Immune Hepatitis, caused by the Lupus. It settled with Upped steriods. I had the bloated tummy, pain under my right rib and was so tired. Hope you feeling a bit better today and make sure you rest.
