Hello.
I'm new here. Great place!
I have been diagnosed with lupus for about 6 years now, with no organ involvement as of yet. (Muscles, tendons, skin and joints)
I recently had a chest cat scan which revealed multiple lung nodules and scarring on both lungs. They said my lupus could have caused this. Has anyone else encountered this? I could not find any connections between the two on the internet.
Thanks for your help.

Tasha, I have nodules in my lungs and some scarring, however at the onset of all this (sle) I was diagnosed with pneumonia 3 times and finally got the right dx , which was PE (pulmonary embolism) in my lungs. My lungs were full of blood clots. At first they monitored the nodules and scarring very close. ct scans and x rays of lungs every 3 months. The last time the nodules were the same size, perhaps even smaller, so they'll only check them once a year.
It's unnerving at first, then other things took over so I'm not fixated on that part of me as much now.
Just make sure they take a look at them on a regular basis, at least every 6 months at first to see if they are growing. Hope this helps.

Hi Bullwinkle,
Thanks. I had pleurisy a number of years ago, maybe that caused some scarring, who knows.
I have to see a pulmonologist in a few weeks to set up the cat scan schedule you mentioned.
I was glad to hear that yours may actally be smaller now...I wonder what made them shrink? If they grow does that mean they are cancerous?
Well, I'll have lots of questions for this new doc!
Thanks for your input.
