Hi everyone,
Has anyone ever had pain on left side around ribs and kidney? Is this a symptom of lupus? I have been diagnosed with UCTD and am on plaquenil, ultram and celebrex for about 4 years now. The pain on my left side just started 3 days ago and comes and goes. My left side is also real tender to the touch. Anyone else have this problem? Any info you could give me would be helpful. :worried: Thanks,
Diane

You spleen may be inflamed. Have you been to the doctors? or had any blood work lately?...I would try to see your doctor just to be sure and to rule out kidney infection also. Mono and other infections can inflame your spleen as can Lupus and autoimmune diseases. Hope you feel better soon!!

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for info. I go for my bloodwork in January. Thought it might be just pains of lupus. I never thought that it might be my spleen. I will call doctor sooner if it gets worse. God Bless,
Diane

Hiya Michelle
I have a pain at the mo on my left side behind my ribs, but alittle higher than you describe. I called my gp today to ask her for some advise and she came out to see me, she examined me and had a listen to my lungs and chest, she was actually checking for blood clots in my lungs (as i have a history of blood clots) luckily that seems not to be the case.
She suspects that there is some inflammation around that area which is causing this severe discomfort and pain. I am unable to take anti-inflammatory meds so she as given me some anti-inflammatory gel to put on 3 times a day.
I think you need to be seeking medical advice for this if it continues to bother you - as they say 'better to be safe than sorry'......
I hope you get this problem sorted soon. Take care :hug:Jo:hug:
