Just wondering if anyone else here suffers from SCLE. I was dx with this along with Discoid and SLE. 17 years ago. Found a good link on it with many pictures. I know realise why my hands often look like this. It causes me many problerms along with the Discoid and Vascultis

Hi Sheila

This is the form of lupus I suffer from.
There's a pinned notice on the section giving picture ( and info ) sites for skin lupus and associated skin problems.
Subacute type skin lesions are of two main sorts and usually on upper body and arms. There's red scaley patches like psoriasis and bright red wavy rings.

I had both sorts on my face, plus from time to time a blistering sort

I think the picture is more likely to be of vasculitis, but subacute apparently has a strong vascular component.

The subacute lesions are associated with systemic lupus more often than discoid lesions but rarely with severe organ disease.

Apparently I also have discoid on ears and I suspect the very first sign was discoid on scalp I have two bald patches. Thank goodness that never spread

Luckily subacute lesions don't actually scar.

Hugs

Clare

Thanks Clare. Duh Me. I just seen all the information pinned. Thanks so much. I Love to get up one day and not a rash on my Body :( but should count my blessings. I have Brain Involvement with my Lupus and joint and muscle problems, some related (joint) to my RA, but only had mild organ trouble. Thanks Again Clare
Hugs back to you
