Hi:hugbetter:
Im really sorry to hear you are feeling so bad:sad: Please dont push yourself too hard because things will only get more difficult for you if you do. You have to rest when your body tells you....
I wish for you a better day tomorrow.....
Take care for now

Sorry you had such a horrid day. I'm a bit concerned about your description of the headache though and think its worth seeing a doc about, especially if it was accompanied by any other symptoms - was it? Its possible its not just a 'lupus headache' but does deserve further investigation by your Rheumy.
they can and have been so bad that you will be on your knees asking for help to make it stop
Hope you are feeling a little better today.
love

I'm very sorry Wayne. It is extremely difficult to know how hard to push oneself, somehow get a happy balance, but on big occasions it is so hard to opt out and you feel even more miserable because you can't join in.
People just don't understand I'm sorry to say.
Have you read the Spoons Theory and Letter to Normals ? I think they are on Living with Lupus section
I think you should get the head aches investigated.
I hope you'll be feeling better very soon.
Bye for now

Wayne I am so sorry you have to go through the diagnosis of Lupus on top of your cancer diagnosis, this alone is enough to bring on a migraine. I also have to say that you need to take it easy. Taking it easy does not mean giving up or surrendering or being weak for that matter.
We males sometimes think that if we don't keep going we are somehow weak, this is not true. This is an negative ideology created by societal forces, which act upon us to think this way. Please try and dismiss these feelings and thoughts that you must keep going no matter what. If you need to lie down and get some rest then do so, that is what your body is telling you to do, so listen to it.
I understand the headaches you are having; you are not alone there. Not that this is much help to you, but just wanted to let you know that I express sympathy along side you. I have them very bad; at least twice a week, and like you I just want them to stop; after they finally do my head is also painful to touch.
As the others have said, when you are up to it you should mentioned these headaches to your doctor or specialist.
Hang in there matey and rest plenty.
Hi Wayne,
I really can't add much to what the others have said, all good advice. I will say that I suffered for a long time before I gave in to pain meds. Being stuborn can be your enemy sometimes. I take them when I hurt and continue with what has to be done. Do listen to your body, pain is telling you something is wrong. A lot of it we just have to deal with but we need to know that it's nothing serious first. I hate flares, but a lot of times I get them by pushing myself to hard. :(

Thanks to each and everyone of you for the come backs what a joy it is to here back from people who understand the problems.I have had the headaches checked out every way they can , they have been unable to come up with a positive answer, i my self beleive they are from the chemical changes that happen within , along with many triggers . Today is just one of those pain ful days , i swear i hurt all over . Some day all of this shall pass and things will be better , but until then i must stay focused and pray for the best . Again hugs to all and thank you . Wayne;)

HI Wayne I know you would not return home if you visited Australia. I have no doubt you would come here and want to stay. Life in Australia is generally a pretty relaxed affair, although it is a bit on the warm side at present, and we need some rain, it is so very dry.
Mate you will have to take a tour down under and hang out, but when you come just make sure you bring some water with you.

Hi Wayne
Sorry to hear that you are feeling sick at the moment. I hope that when you wake up you feel better.
Try to rest when you can - that is important.
I am sending you some chocolates - hope you feel better.

Just passing on a " Hoping for nothing but the best for you , Wayne !!" As Steve says us males have to get used to putting our feet up and rest the body. Someone must have sprinkled kryptonite in the atmosphere 'cause the Superman suit we used to wear so proudly, seems to be getting holes in it.
I know I still have a hard time not jumping up to "save the world" every time I see something that should or needs to be done. Take care of yourself, buddy.

Tom wrote "I suffered for a long time before I gave in to pain meds." I am beginning to think that good days are more dangerous than painful days. After a rotten spell I had some days of rest and feeling so much better I started to cut back on the pain pills. I am a gold-plated, copper-bottomed idiot. The trouble is that not only I suffered because of it: my wife, friends, family all suffered sympathetically. is it pride or stupidity on my part? I am not sure but I do know this: Stonefeather, if you have been Rx'd any pain meds, use them as directed. This forum does not need another one like me, occasionally dumber than a sack of hammers.
Hope things have improved.
