Last year I wasn't able to do much cooking. This year I am trying to put together one thing everyday in the kitchen, with my daughter's help.

Yesterday we made pecan pie crisps. Today we baked Nestle Tollhouse cookies (grandma got a stack of those). We'll see what we have the energy for tomorrow.

You see now why we need a New Year's resolution plan of attack. :p

What are your favorite holiday goodies? :santa:

Julie

Hi Julie:)

This it not so much about baking but rather the way I cook my Christmas ham so I thought I would share it.

First of all I boil the ham for about an hour in water. Then I take it out and remove the skin with a sharp knife. I make up a ham glaze using mustard, honey and brown sugar (just slop in amounts to fingertip taste:) ) I then score the ham fat and spread the ham glaze all over and also pop in whole cloves here and there in the fat. Finally I put it in a baking tray, pour about half a can of cider over it and cover it in tinfoil and bake it in the oven. The mixture of the glaze and slightly sweet cider flavour is just gorgeous!

Happy baking!

Luv n stuff

I make a very traditional Christmas Goose. I stuff the goose with a chestnut/tangerine dressing - not the easiest to make but very yummy.

I glaze the goose with a mixture of Orange marmalade and cranberry sauce...butter and brown sugar of course.

8) This whole week I've been baking goodies (in between naps) for my neighbors and for my son's school teachers. I figured it's a good way to keep my hands and feet warm. :) I specially enjoy it when my little boy helps me...making a mess, of course .

So today, we baked a loaf of Banana nut bread for dessert and I'm also making hot chocolate to go with it. :wink2: Anybody for dessert?
