Hello,
I am just throwing a couple of ideas your way.
My daughter had to have her adnoids out-her snoring stopped. Adnoids don't always shrink down therefor causing a blocked airway.
I am a mouth breather and that will cause me to snore.
I think I snore when I am completely exhausted.
Do you drink alcohol before bedtime?
I hope you can remedy this.:)
Good Luck,
Becca

Hi have you tried steam inhalation just before bedtime?
My hubby has a really bad snoring problem and my sleep pattern often suffers, theres all kinds of things on market nowadays, we've found taking an anti-histhamine just before bed helps him, theres stop snore breathe right strips, herbal preparations too, they all work but my hubby way too often forgets to take the stuff that helps ME sleep! :bashhead: a dig in the ribs is usually fairly satisfying!, Seriously though, adenoids are a problem for many snorers, good luck and peaceful sleeps to come for you I hope

Hi Jane,

I have to admit to being a chronic snorer since I was a child. I had my adenoids & tonsils taken out but they found that I have very narrow sinuses.

Mine is an extreme case though, I've suffered severe sinusitis all my life & had 3 operations to remove scar tissue (nasal diathermy). Apparetnly if you blow your nose alot it causes scar tissue to build up. Have you had a recent bad cold or catarrh infection that maybe hasn't quite cleared up.

In my case it seems to be hereditary as my Dad & Grandad suffered the same thing.

At times it can be upsetting for me as Hubby has to sleep in the spare room. Boy is it embarassing when I travel with work & start snoring on the plane!

It can really disrupt your sleep pattern so you wake up feeling like you've hardly had a wink.

Maybe you should talk it over with your doc to see what they say.

I hope you get to the bottom of it.

Hugs,

I am over weight, I am a smoker, and yes I snore.......according to my hubby, I personally think he is lying!!!

Since it is new, you might want to contact your physician. You could have a blockage that an ENT doc needs to look at. Another thought that is a little more concering is that you are waking yourself up at night. It could be that you are not getting enough oxygen. By talking to your primary, he could evaluate the problem and maybe you need a sleep study. Are you on blood pressure meds or have any heart problems?

All the best. I hope you can get a good night sleep sometime.
