Hi, this might be a strange one but has anyone had sore palms? mainly the fatty part under the thumb. Both my hands are really sore today - and I haven't done much to get them that way today.
This is the first time I have had this problem so just thought I would ask.
Thanks guys:)

Keewee,
I do get sore palms every now and then, however, my fingers are normally what hurt the most. Of course, opening pill bottles really aggravates things!!!

Hi guys, thanks for that
I am pleased to know it is not in my head and others have the same problem.
I too have trouble turning on taps, opening bottles and basically anything that screws on or off.
Have a great day

i know my friend has said clapping hurts the palms of her hands, and she never even connected it to her lupus until recently it occured to her that it was probably related...

Oh yes I get the sore palms too. In fact, now that I think about it, I started noticing it about 2 years ago when clapping at my son's music recital. Funny, but 2 of my high schoolers are into singing, band, and drama and so I clap a lot. I have been diagnosed about a month now, and have been noticing the blue achiness occurs right below the the thumbs and yes, it hurts to open jar lids!
I am glad you brought this up, Kewee. It is good to know we are not alone! :)

For my wife sore hands seems to come and go from time to time.
Sometimes this is evident by a slightly brighetr shade of pink to the effected areas and possibly a little swollen but that is hard to say.
When it happens she says it feels good to have something rubbed across them very very lightly. Almost as light as a feather touch.
Pill bottles always cause her problems but we have got around this in two ways. One we request a easy open lid and keep spares around just in case they forget to do it.
We have also purchased a monthly pill dispenser. The one she has is a tray with four one week organizers of diferent colors. This works well because they can be used as a monthly organizer if on one pill routine. If on two dosage schedule it can be used as a two week with day night intervals. Most drugs stores have them and they do not cost that much. We keep spares in case a lid breaks or something. We have purchased then several times when they were on sale or clearance and keep one or two in a closet in case needed.
These are much easier to open and can be done when no one is around to help with the lids.
only warning I would have on them is that easy for you to open can also mean easy for kids to open if you have kids or friends that bring kids over from time to time.
This means that if they are around it needs to be placed where the kids can not find it or get to it.

Hi Keewee,I just started going thru this last week, and I have no idea what causes it or will it go away, I just know that it hurts
( in fatty part under the thumb) and I don't like it. If anyone knowsif it does go away, or any information at all on this, will you please post it? Thank You
