I have been having abdomen pain for over a year. It used to be more on and off and before a flare up and then I lose my appetite etc....Now, it is all the time almost. I feel naseous, full, my stomache is bloated, my stomach hurts and after I eat my stomach hurts worse, below my rib cage, I feel sick, and my stomach is bloated all the time and hard. I mentioned this to my neurologist the beginning of December and he put me on prilosec instead of the zantac. I had a normal gyn appointment and when she pushed on my lower abdomen, it hurt so she ordered a scan of my uterus and ovaries. I get results next week. The pain is higher in my abdomen but radiates around and is finger point tender when I poke my abdomen from under my ribs down almost to my pelvis. I feel full all the time and cant eat much. All foods bother me not just fatty foods, etc. I feel like I have to have the biggest bowel movement and am very constipated but I am NOT. It is made worse by eating. Any ideas? is it IBS or Gallbladder or ascites, or ??? I will ask or call my doctor next week. This has been bothering me a while now but my mom being so sick for 5 months, I just did not think much of it as uncomfortable as it is. Now with my mom dying, I need to take care of myself. Any ideas? could it be inflammation from the lupus on my organs down there?....
Thanks,
MichelleAnn

I am sorry to hear about this additional problem (((((( MichelleAnn)))))).
Just to throw another possibility into the works, gastroparesis can cause those sorts of symptom, often associated with diabetes but found also in connective tissue diseases.
See, among many other sites :

I hope you will soon get some answers.
All the best

Thank you so much CLare, I will call my Rheum. Doctor and discus with her. This is exactly what it sounds like. I also get sick sometimes in the morning and it is food not digested it looks just like I ate it and it always concerned me. I will see what she says. I have changed my diet and it does not help. If I eat lunch or breakfast, then I cant eat dinner, I am too full, stomach aches and is bloated. I wonder why I do not lose weight, darn!! The steroids you would think would help this but guess not. You made my day!!:rotfl:

I have similiar problems and after a series of tests, of course, it was found that I have gastroparesis....aka...lazy stomach. My doc put me on Reglan three times a day and everything is better now. Just another little pill to swallow.
Definately talk to your physician about what is going on and see what he can do for you. I hope you get to feeling better soon!!

hi,
yes i have the same symptoms too. These were the first manifestation i had of the the whole disease. actually, right now the dyagnosis of sle put these problems in a second place, but i still suffer with it. What were the tests u did to find out thst gastroparesis u mentioned? I did a xray which said my stomach is a little "lazy". what do u say?
