Hi everyone. Hope this day brings you all well.

Last night - all night, I had sharp pains in my legs. Here there everywhere from my knee down to my foot. No matter how I put my legs, the pain was there and I was unable to sleep the whole night because of it.

Now why is this happening? Is it because I lowered the prednisone or just a weird thing that is happening. It kills ! and I really don't want to call the doc and complain because I am not upping any medicine.

Anyone have any experience with these sharp aching pains and do you know why?

This is just not a good few days for me.

hello helloos!!!
Sorry to hear about the pains hun, i do suffer from them most of the day and night...so i know how you are feeling!! Just a thought....have you had your calcium levels checked? my blood has not shown any signs of lupus, but im hypocalcemic, as i have adjusted calcium of 1.63 normal being 2.68 and that can produce all the symptoms of lupus with others to boot...the main one being muscle pain all over but mostly legs, and pain in the bones. hope this helps!!
Love n hugs,

If this is a new symptom for you, it might be a good idea to phone the doctor's office to let them know about it. It sounds frightful -- I've never experienced what you described. I sometimes get muscle aches, but not stabbing pains, when lowering my prednisone dosage, and the pain is usually in my thighs/hips and upper arms/shoulders.

I hope you get some relief and rest today.

Hi Paula,
strange but I was at the DR. this week with exactly the same thing. My appointment with the Rheumy is next week so it was just the house DR. she said it was Rheuma, it was not in the joints just in the muscles. She gave me diclofenac. Now in Germany if you read the info. sheet on asprin you would never take one...and the info pkt. on diclo said..not tobe taken with AI illness ect. incl. Lupus Erythamatodes...phoned rheumy up asked him, he said it was ok. as long as it was not taken on a long term basis but just when needed.

I have had these pains quite a while, so tdy. I was going to take the diclo......and guess what ..the pains have gone.

This happens tome so often...I feel like a real fake sometimes. But honestly I was up during the night lately in agony unable to sleep, walking during the day was out of the question...and tdy i cleaned the whole flat.

I have my appointment next week, I'll tell him.
Meanwhile I hope yours have gone too.
Take Care
Marika
