clear x ray

Hi peeps....;).... i been having pains/aches in my middle back/chest...so i had a x ray which showed nothing.....wat now....would any other test show anything?..i am seeing gp on thursday and wanted to go with some ideas from people who know wat lupus is:)....blood test had shown all normal...this has been going on for 6 months now off and on...:sad:...gp thought pleurisy...but no...please can anyone advise....jane;)

Hi Jane.

It is my understand that while Pleurisy can show up on an xray, it doesn't always.

I had Pleursiy several times with a clear xray.

They can also do a cat scan or mri which may or may not show it too.

I think that your gp should be able to tell you the next step.

Maybe a referral to a pulmonary doctor will help figure it out if he is sure that it is your lung.

I would think that they should do some type of scan of heart and lung area.

Good luck with your gp and don't leave with some sort of investigating plan.
