Hi all, I hope you all are well. My wife has just been diagnoised with Lupus.
She bumped her head at work and what appeared to be skin infection set up. It didn't get better over an 8 month period so we went to a dermatologist. They biopsed her scalp and it came back as Lupus. But we weren't told what type. She also has another small spot right in her hairline that looks like a clear scar and she has hair loss their. Their is hairl oss at the injured sight as well.
She also has a small dark scaley patch on back that came back as Morphea. I understand they can be related.
After doing some reading, this to me sounds like Discoid Lupus.
However... she has some other odd things that aren't commonly reported ailments. She has been living with a gum issue for 12 years. Here gums are bright red and inflammed (like gingivitis) but she has perfect dental care. Topical sterioids help the condition, but have damaged her gums.
She had a gum biopsy and it came back as Lichinoid Mucositis. (Not helpful)
Could this be a sigh of Lupus?
Here vaginal area (around the opening) is also inflamed. Intercourse is painful. This condition has just developed in the last year or so. Here gyno said she thought it was here birth control (estrogen related)
Could this be related?
Other than that she is 100% healthy. No other skin issues or rashes and none of the major symptoms.
Were still very disturbed though and have follow up tests coming soon.
Thanks for any information.
