hi guys,
well, so far (lucky me) i've been one of the few lupies without joint pain. Actually, lately sometimes i feel a little pain in my knees, low back (in the morn) and hands. They are NOT SWALLEN or red at all: r these symptoms (NEW!! Oh NO!) related to sle? It is just that i hope this is nothing but a little tiredness and not a new sympt of lupus.....do joint have to be clearly swallen or red to b classified as lupus-related...(hope so!!!!)
thanks 4 sharing your experience and advice!!
Hi enrico,
Sometimes my joints are red and swollen and hurt, sometimes they just hurt. anti-inflammatories daily along with Plaquenil help mine a great deal.
You dont have to have signs of redness and swelling for it to be lupus arthralgia which most of us have.

Hi Enrico!:p
I have not been diagnosed with lupus yet (still trying to get some answers) but I too have been waking up with a painful lower back lately :( (which has never happened before and I'm still young!) I also get pain in most of my joints, but never any swelling. It sounds like you are experiencing arthralgia (pain in the joints) like lily said, and I would let your doctor know about this in case it is a new symptom, but I hope you feel better soon. All the best,
Linda:p

Enrico-
Before I was diagnosed, my joints in my fingers and wrists were very painful. I could hardly turn the ignition key in the car! They did not appear swollen at all. When the dr. checked me, he felt each finger,he said they were definatly swollen, the joints themselves. Sometimes if I run my thumb and pointer finger on the outside of the finger(as if holding it), ending at the tip of the finger, I can really feel the joint size.
Good luck, Kim

Hey there!
I pretty much have joint pain everywhere. And it is pretty painful. To my knowledge my joints have not been swollen or red.
Good luck to you. Hopefully this will not be an ongoing thing for you.

I forgot to say my rheumy just told me to take naproxen two pills, three times a day.
