HI everyone
I have this skin pain on my legs really bad. An addition to the leg pain which is getting out of control. But it feels like about 1/2 inch from the top of the skin inward is very senstive and hurts. Just to rub lightly on the skin in some areas hurts. Does anyone ever get this? Do you know what causes it?

Hi Helloos,
I used to get a lot of the tenderness, burning, painful feeling sensation in my legs. Now, I seldom get them but six months ago, I had them very bad and my neuro told me that my situation was most likely as a result of been on high doses of predisone for a long period of time.:?
He put me on Neurontin,(I'm not sure how to spell it) for the pain.
Currently, I'm not on neurontin or predisone anymore.
I hope you're able to get some help from your doctors because I know it's untolerable pain.
Sending you hugs and well wishes. 8)

Hello! My skin can be very sensitive and sore at times. it is painful and not a good feeling at all. My sensitivity is mostly in my arms, hands, fingers, and on my sides. I have found that Lyrica works for me. It is the newer version of neurontin. I stopped taking it a year ago b/c I am stubborn and did not want to take meds anymore. I restarted Lyrica yesterday and I cannot wait to feel the effects. My skin has become so sensitive lately. Good luck to you.

Hi Paula,
I have had the top of my thighs get sensitive to touch. Almost like when you have the flu and your skin hurts to touch. It is only on the top of my thighs. I have no idea what it is from or if is something normal with lupus? I hope someone comes along and can give some insite on this. I have not had this for awhile now but I do know what you are talking about. I am sorry I could not be more help but wanted to let you know you are not alone out there.

Hi Paula,
What you're describing is the kind of pain I have all the time. It's always in my face, but I often also have one or two other spots "going". There's a specific spot on my upper thigh, another lower on my leg, one under my left breast and sometimes I get random spots. I've been told it's nerve pain. One dr. referred to it as "unexpressed shingles", although I have no idea if he knew what he was talking about. Neurontin helps. It is considered typically to be peripheral neuropathy, the skin being the "peripheral" body organ involved.
Good luck and hugs,
Sunny

That was one of my first complaints and started a day or two after my last child was born ...it was blamed at first on having a 9 lb + baby and pulling something...
Have spots on lower side and outside of right thigh and outside of leg just below knee... and patches over shoulder blades... it varies now from just the sensation of something touching me to a burning tingling pain... to the point that being a nudist do no clothe would touch it is something I think about..(only half seriously)
Have tried several meds with no luck ...topicals do help some...Bio Freeze numbs it a little and capsation cream used sparingly used to work until I developed an allergy to it
I have had shingle break outs across shoulder blades but they didn't happen til after this started ....but when nerve damage from pushing and pulling baby into world was ruled out was told it could have been repressed shingles ...the pain phases are alot like the pain I get with shingles... but where after 3-6 weeks the shingle pain goes away ,this never totally does
