I call them "spazes". Small ones in the fingers and more frequently in larger muscles so I knock things over, almost fall, etc. (Since I teach Japanese swordwork with sharp swords this is sometimes not amusing.) The MD put me on Flexuril so I have not decapitated any students..... yet.

I went through a very bad phase of this. They did an MRI which revealed nothing and finally put me on Requip to stop the jerking---I had it in hands, arms, legs. Requip has worked well for me. Hope you get relief soon--makes for very restless nights!

I also get "twitches". They usually occur at night, after I've taken my meds. I get them in my legs, arms and hands. Not sure what they're from, but they're not fun and keep me awake as I'm starting to fall asleep. They do not however wake me up once I'm asleep.

I also get the twitches, when bad, the zanaflex helps some...it is something I am learning to accept. Parkinsons I even feel at times when my body or head bobbles or arms go.....but it is Lupus. Happens especially when I over do it, or use a certain body part more than usual.

Hello, I get these twitches too, when I have flares, my arm/shoulder twitches bad. I rarely get it in my hand, but when I get it, controlling it is not an option for me[lol]. Hope you feel better, Dee
