Hi and hope you are all doing ok :)
Can anyone give me any advice/ease my mind? I have to go for an examination by a state doctor because I get incapacity benefit. after reading some other posts here and stories I’ve heard elsewhere I’m worried:( they will say I should work more and stop my money. I’m intending to go well prepared with all my notes but this illness is so hard to see. What have your experiences been like?

hi rachel, try not to worry yourself.
when i went to the state for my incapacity i wasnt very well,it was obvious to the doc he sent me home,i got long term incapacity awarded.
but on the d.l.a.side of things they are more of a worry and in my experience harder to get.
on the day i went to the state for incapacity i was very fatique which makes me very pale, but in all honesty i did overdo it before i saw them, not on purpose, just doing washing and stuff the usual to people who are well.but to us a challenge.
my advice would be take someone with you who can assist you, just tell them the truth how your illness affects you, also if you suffer with depression then please elaborate on that to,tell them everything that involves upseting to your life.
please dont worry to much, the incapacity are better at understanding, its a good idea you are taking all your notes with you too so you dont forget anything.
good luck,i wish you all the best for a good outcome, please let us know how you get on.
love and best wishes jo8

thnaks for that, yesterday I went for the medical examination. It seemed to go ok ;) and the doctor said ‘you have a genuine problem, there should be no problem with your benefit money’ but I won’t believe it till I see it in writing!!!!
