To all members,
Some of you may be aware of recent problems we have had with a member who has now been banned from the forums. We are aware she has been forwarding private emails from the moderating team and myself to other members.
Whilst we occasionally have problem members we have to deal with, we prefer to do so in the background without anyone else knowing, so as not to worry or alarm our other members. However, on this occasion, the member herself has chosen to try and involve other members and we therefore feel we have no choice but to bring this into the public forum.
I'd like to take this opportunity to point out the following to all members:
* We (the moderators and myself) will do all we can to protect this forum and our members.
We strive to make these forums a safe and secure place where members can share their experiences and have their privacy respected.
This may sometimes involve seeking legal advice and if necessary taking legal action against those who make threats towards the forums, break copyright and/or other laws.
* All posts on here are copyright, and may not be reproduced in any form without express written consent from the poster. To reproduce them without consent is illegal.
* We will not support idle gossip.
* These forums are privately owned and run, and therefore membership is a privelege and not a right.
We have been going now for over 10 years, and in that time I have seen many similar forums come and go. It's a tribute to our moderating team and members that we are still here, going strong.
* We cannot, do not, and wouldn't ever consider reading anyone's private messages. For a start, the functionality just isn't available with the forum software. Even if it was, it's against my moral beliefs and something I would never allow. We all take the confidentiality and privacy of our members very seriously.
* If any of the banned member's friends are considering helping her to continue her nastiness and illegal activities in any way, rest assured you will be found out, banned, and the appropriate action taken as necessary.
* If anyone receives any correspondence from the banned member, please forward it to myself or one of the moderators. Your privacy will be guaranteed.
If you haven't a clue what I'm talking about then you have nothing to worry about! :)
