Hi there!
My feet go dead when I exercise, too. It started with just the middle toes going numb and has now gotten to the point that my legs go numb from the mid-calf down if I exercise for more than 15-20 minutes. It doesn't even have to be a vigorous workout.
I was told that it could be a sign of peripheral artery disease and/or peripheral neuropathy. I suggest you talk with your doctor about it. You may need to have some additional tests run.

This happens to me too...and when I'm in a hot shower my feet tingle so bad they hurt. I never told anyone cause I thought maybe I was just crazy. Glad to know I'm not:rotfl:
I have no idea what peripheral artery disease is but is it common with Lupus?

That's really interesting because I get the same thing when I exercise. And pre-diagnosis 30 years ago, when I was in my early 20's and was running 3 miles a day, I had a lot of trouble with my feet falling asleep after a mile.
Have you played with different sleep positions? (although if you're like me, you always revert, in your sleep, to your habitual position).

hi there
does your foot go cold as well as numb? If it gets cold, then it could be a circulation problem. I had a blocked artery which did this to my arm, and I had to have it stented. But, there wasn't just cold and numbness, there was also pain in my arm when I exercised it as my muscles were screaming out for more of the good stuff which of course I wasn't able to supply because of the blockage. I have since had the artery stented, which has mostly fixed the problem.
Sounds like it would be a good idea to talk with your doctor about it. I was always able to monitor how my circulation in my arm is doing by comparing my pulses, right to left - the one on the blocked side is still a little weaker than the other, but at it's worse I had a monophasic pulse on that side which was basically too weak to be detected without a dopler.
so, next time you are at the doctor, tell them what is going on. If you get pain, or the foot is going cold, then I would make an appointment especially to have it checked out.
I notice that my foot can go numb when I drive for anything over about 40 minutes - that is really just a cramp sort of thing, and if I get out and walk around for a bit then it fixes itself. Which is very different from what happened with my arm

Yes, I have a lot of the foot problems you describe. My feet have been going numb/tingling for months now, especially on the bottom of my foot and the middle toes. They also get worse if I've done a lot of standing or walking and my left foot especially goes numb when I drive even short distances.
I'm still in the process of being assessed/diagnosed, and am being checked out mainly for CNS symptoms. But at the same time I've been getting very cold, mottled or white hands and feet (had reynaulds since childhood), so it does make me wonder if it's vascular.
And this morning when I tried to stand I had a pain so bad through the ball of my left foot I couldn't take any weight on it at all. I seem to remember I got a similar thing a few years ago, the first time I got really sick with this (whatever "this" is finally dx'd as!)
