Hi,

I was just wondering how lupus affects your behaviour and persnality? Has anyone had any experience of this??

I'm sometimes moody, snap at people, cry, feel depressed but I never know when to associate things to lupus or if it's just me!

Hi Martha

I get snappy and depressed as well, this started over a year ago, I was told it was part and parcel of Lupus. I take an Anti-D now which has helped a great deal...

You should talk to your GP about this, it could be from a med, lupus or any number of things. Hope you feel better soon.

Hugs Jude:)

Hi Martha,

Are you on Prednisone, that makes a lot of us snappy, depressed and tearful ;)

My mood swings???? I can cry at the drop of a hat, then turn around and giggle myself silly. Then i can go from 0 to "w"itch in just 2 seconds flat. I never used to be so moody, but now I am. I do not know if it is the Lupus causing problems or that fact that I am at home and unable to contribute to the family financially. Hmmmm, that brings it back to the Lupus doesn't it?

I do have some CNS problems, and sometimes things really, really grate on me. I do notice when I increase the steroids I am more aggressive. I have found I just have to explain the brain stuff to people so thay know I can erupt. I found it hard to do this explaining for the first few years, but these days I can handle giving people a simple explanation.
Given that we have a Systemic disease it would be surprising if your feelings were not involved!

i wish i had that magic wand that made all us happy bubbly pepole, it sucks snapping and biteing heads off. at times i dont like myself, even w/ the anti-depssants i'm still as she said 0 to witchy. meditations do help at times, along with relaxing music or comedy dvds, set up a space if posible for you to have quite time or vent or anything. heck i even bougt those anthony robbins cds  just find your focus point what ever it may be. sometimes it might even be a nascar race:) take care

Mood swings are just another little present from Lupus. I'm still in the workforce and I find it difficult to take some people's problems seriously given what I deal with everyday. This isn't good for me as I'm a Human Resources Director and deal all day with other people's problems. Sometimes I just have to go to the bathroom, shut the stall and have a good cry, or say a prayer, to just do some deep breathing. Ain't life grand with Lupus!!!!

I can change moods at the drop of a hat! :(

I wish I didn't and I feel sorry for my boyfriend who get's the brunt of it all. He calls me little rager and always says how he doesn't know how much rage can be in one small person!

I wouldn't blame me if he left me because of it - he certainly needs a medal for putting up with me!

It affects my moods too, although I have to say that antidepressants helped a lot (but now I´m not taking them any more).

Hugs,
