Hi everyone

I'm really not having a good few days

The CNS symptoms seem to have come back with a vengeance, my eye is hurting, my hands/feet numb and I have a tremor back in my right hand. I'm worried I'm going to have another TIA.

And I've not had pain in my joints this bad since after my son was born and I was really sick. I kneel done and the pain is sickening, and I remember that pain from last time. And both my hips are the worst right now. It feels like someone's beaten them with baseball bats and they're really bruised, although there is nothing visible. It feels like my mattress is stuffed with rocks and I just can't get comfortable, and when I do get to sleep, the pain just wakes me up again. And last night for the first time since I was so ill before, I was feverish too, and my face rash flared up. It really scares me because the last time I was ill like that it was because of nephritis and my kidneys were really badly effected.

It's like I've been used to minor flares and "grumblings" for 6 years now, and just kept telling myself that this one will go away soon too, but it just seems to be getting worse.

The rheumy appointment is still 4 weeks away, and I still haven't had a CT after it was cancelled last week (it has been "pencilled in" for this Friday, but it's not been confirmed yet) which also worries me.

I'm sorry to offload this all on you, but I guess I'm just having a really bad day and starting to feel quite scared about where this is going to end up, especially as I'm still not dx'd (apart from "non-lupus lupus" )

Hello ((((( Evie )))))

I'm sorry you're feeling so rough. Give your GP a ring and let her know and tell her how worried you are about another TIA episode.
Ask what you should do about the MRI because she might be able to impress on them how urgent it is.
If they cancelled it, they jolly well should have confirmed this new one by now !

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts - keep in touch

I am so sorry that you are in so much pain and not having a confirmed appt. is stressful in itself. I would call too and say "erase the pencil and put it in pen" You are in desperate need and say that to them.

I agree too that you should call your gp and tell them what is happening. Perhaps things can be checked out before your rhemo appt. and to make sure that your are safe.

I hope you feel better and do hope that the gp can help you .

Hi everyone

I just wanted to say thankyou for your replies, it really helped, I had a very bad week!

I had 4 days of temperature and feeling so unwell, with all those symptoms coming back with a vengeance. It really started to panic me.

I spoke to my GP, and she was pretty cross (to say the least) about them messing me around with the CT scan, and contacted the hospital herself to say they had to see me ASAP. The thing is they do routine CTs in a weekly clinic on Fridays, so I still have to wait until next Friday unless I have another TIA in the meantime  But I do love my GP - she is a real star :)

Then yesterday afternoon I started to feel better, and this morning I woke up and my period started. Then I kind of went :umm: and remembered reading on here that pre menstrual hormones can cause symptoms of AI condtions to flare. All I can say is the pain in my hips has eased a lot (though they are still tender), the hand/foot tingling and hand tremor has gone again, and my temperature has gone. It has calmed me down to think: "It's OK, it was probably just your hormones" :hehe: rather than everything just getting out of control.

Redbird - I've not been dx'd yet, but I will be seeing a rheumy in Bath where they have a CTD clinic, but it's good to know there are other good rheumies around the area too!

Thanks again

Eve x
