Well now I'm really confused.

Been feeling so rough lately what with drastic muscle weakness, weight gain of 10 kilos in 6 months despite being on a diet. (not on steroids). Purple stretch marks appearing on stomach....and other areas of body. Getting hairy. That I went to see my Rheumy urgently. My test results have gone awry.....not making any sense in the Lupus world of results, however he thinks my symptoms are pointing towards Cushings Disease....

So there I am this weekend collecting a 24 hour urine sample.....god do I really pass that much urine in a day!.....and now I'm waiting for the results and an urgent appointment with an endocrinologist.

Not sure now if this means I don't have Lupus or I have both conditions.....not very happy....depression kicking in again.....worried as the prospect of a tumour even a benign one is scary enough.....

Anybody here suffering this too.....or have any insights to help....:worried:

Hello Lynda,
This isn't something I really know about. Just wanted to say Hello as you sound pretty isolated. I hope they get you sorted out.

And yes, I've done a 24 hour urine save in hospital and carrying the bottle to the loo and back seemed remarkably heavy!

I wanted to say as thou you were my best friend, and I knew you well to please not to let yourself worry so much that the depression kicks in. Being my best friend I would plan something special we could do. So instead do something special for yourself. If it is depression that you can control by doing it away , or thinking it away with your thoughts.

I have this much older LADY in my neighborhood, she has had a very bad stroke. After she got out of the hospital her son held her and helped her walk down the block and back to her home. They did this everyday without fail unless it rained. Then one day I saw her out walking with a walker and her son spotting her. They did this for months every day without fail rain the exception. Next I saw her with a cane and her son spotting her. Next ALL BY HERSELF. And she has done this for years now, everyday rain being the only thing that has stopped her.

She speaks very little english. I decided to tell her what an inspiration that she was to me. She told me best she could that if she didn't walk she would be in tremendous pain. And when she walked she was in tremendous pain even with pain meds. Now when I get down , I wait to see her. So do a lot of my neighbors.

If you can control your depression, look for someting that inspires you. If you can't please talk to your DR. about the right med. for your depression. Best friend if it is Cushion's disease I know that you will deal with it, beautifully,as best as you can. Friend do as you would advise me. And don't worry about which you can't control. Life is much to short. And you are very much loved by us all.

I Live in Texas.I was in a drug store called CVS pharmachy. This beautiful 30 something blonde girl and I were looking at pill boxes. Anyways, come to find out she had cushing's disease. had just recently gotten out of the hospital from having surgery because of the disease. She showed me where she had surgery. She had no complaints. She was happy, and looking forward to the future. She inspired me and lifted me up with her outlook on life.

I asked her what was her advice. She said to do your homework to find the best DR.. I am inspired by( Rageddy Ann) Karen on this lupus site. She deals with many serious issues. And yet she has been there for us all . After the many issues had her down for a while. As soon as she could. She slowly, but purposely comes back to us, to be of help to us all again She has been dearly missed.. She is an inspiration to me . Let her be yours.

Come to chat Speak to her and others Take care of yourself.and keep in touch I will be watching for you girl friend.:)

Love Marva,
