Hi everyone I just need a quick sound off before I attempt to tackle the mountain of work on my desk!

I'm not sleeping very well at the moment, keep waking up several times a night and waking at 5am and not being able to get back to sleep so am very tired!

And then I went swimming last night and got a load of water in my ears and now I can't unblock them and I can't hear a thing!

To sum up I'm exhausted and deaf!!!!!!!!! And overworked and underpaid!

hey! im sorry to hear you are not sleeping well.... here is something i have tried which really helps (although iam sure if i use it too often it will stop helping)
Ricola, the brand name that makes sweets, (ithink they are based in Switzerland,) have brought a tea called "GUt Nacht" -good night tea. it is tea granules, comes in a pot, and it is meant to be drunk at bed time. i find it really does relax me, even though i dont normally get affected by these things. i bought it in my local pharmacy. it is harmless, and not bad taste either...

hope it resolves itself soon

Thanks for the suggestion about the tea, I don't drink caffine normally but today I've hit the coffee - will be paying for it later!

I don't have troubling getting to sleep in the evening - it's staying asleep that's the issue! I guess I get myself worked up because I know I should be kipping so that I then can't get back to sleep!

My ears are causing me some pain as well but at least I have an excuse to be ignoring everyone I don't want to speak to! :rotfl:

Becca

I know what that feels like. You can get the swimmer ear drops at the pharmacy and they do help.

Sometimes shaking your head to one side can help unblock it, but it does hurt the brain!

I hope you can get some rest but I know what you mean about getting up early. For some reason I am waking up at 5:00 a.m. and not going back to sleep. What's up with that time?

Hi Paula,

It's nice to have you back on the site - sorry for all your troubles. Thing of you lots.

I think I worry about waking early and that then makes me more likely to wake up!

I'll try and find these ear drops on my way home - thank you!
