Well Done,
Remember to take your Symptom List to Tommies with you. Do you have far to travel?

Jolly Good ! :)

I hope you don't have too long to wait - I think they have to see people within three months.
Maybe worth giving The London Lupus Centre a call to update them since they sometimes refer people on to St Tom's. :)

Hi Jane

The London Lupus Centre is the private facility at London Bridge Hospital where you got diagnosed I think.
The Lupus Clinic or Unit, Louise Coote Lupus Unit is the NHS facility at St Thomas'

:)

good for you - I'm so glad your got your second opinion. Dr C Cruz has a lovely bedside manner and listens to all your concerns. I first saw him in Jan 07 after years of asking my consultant to refer me - it was definately the best thing for me. I am now being treated seriously and being given the proper course of treatment.

Make sure you take notes with you as he'll ask loads of questions and dates etc.

Good luck

Tracey

Way back to the cradle if need be. You'd normally start from when lupus first hove onto the horizon as a possibility, then work backwards and forwards as need be.

You want a sort of brief intro paragraph to explain why you have come -your recent experiences

You can make a copy and give it to him. My first appointment lasted a good hour.

:)

Cheers

Jane,

I am glad you finally got your referral. The Lupus Clinic at St. Tom's was started by Doctor Graham Hughes who "retired" and started the one at the private hospital. The St. Tom's unit is still held in high esteem in lupus circles. At least that is what I've heard I live in the USA.

Take care,
Karen
