View Full Version : WBC and More in UA?

HI there everyone,

I got my labs back from my Doc.. and my UA came back a bit funny.

I had WBC, leukocyte esterase and trace RBC in my urine analysis. Most of what I've read on the internet says this points to a urinary tract infection - but I have never had one (or at lease one with the symptoms!) that I know of.

I'm waiting for a call back from my GP, but was hoping someone may have some thoughts or a similar experience to share?

Love and :luck:,

Chal

Many of us here have asymptomatic UTI's where you just might feel a little (or a lot) crummier than normal, or maybe a little bit more frequent urination/urgency. Most people with UTI's will have painful urination and frequent urination as the chief symptom, but it doesn't always happen that way and they can in fact be completely symptomless especially as we age.

Often asymptomatic ones are not treated in "healthy" people but they usually are treated if you have lupus though ...

Kidney stones can also cause you to have white and red blood cells in your U/A although from what I could find leucocyte esterase is mostly associated with UTIs.

UTIs can be asymptomatic especially if you're on immunossupressants...

I hope the GP calls and explains the test results to you soon (and that this problem is resolved quickly)!
