yesterday I had my appt with my PCP, who looked into my eyes longer then before and had a 3rd yr resident look as well for an extended period of time. when he was done he asked if I ever had problems with my kidneys, as of the moment the answer to that is it has been fine.

so now my PCP wants me to see the eye doc for an eye exam and also to get bloodwork done. but what I don't understand is that she wants me to do the bloodwork AFTER the eye exam. I don't understand the reason for that nor did she expalin it to me. so does anyone here have any idea as to why??

also besides a standard eye exam, what other possible tests could be done?

thanks for the info.

Hi Mini,

I have no experience to offer on kidney conditions and the eyes, but I can say that if your doctor expects something is wrong, its important to see the opthamologist and if possible, a retina specialist. The retina specialist may do a angio-something which injects die into you then takes a series of fundus (retina) pictures to help determine what is going on.

I sure hope this question clears up soon for you! Please post and let us know how all turns out.

Hi Mini

Not sure what the doc is after and why, but it definately warrants a call to him and ask him the why question and make sure he thoroughly answers your question.
