this might sound like a mental thread, but I thought of something that might brighten our day a little!
Everyone has their thing that makes them feel happy. i love seeing teddy bears of any size and shape. they make me feel cosy and warm and loved even if im having a rubbish day. if we were all to list the things that make us feel good, then perhaps what makes you feel good will eventually make someone else as well... eventually everything you look at will give you a feelgood feeling!!! or maybe that's wishful thinking, but it's worth a try!!
( i know there are more things that youlook at that make you feel bad, but im not convinced that will be conducive to making people feel better:hehe: )
as the famous song goes - "always look on the bright side of life"
oh and also, i love sunflowers, i think they are the happiest things, they are always smiling, they brighten up the room and the add sunshine where there isn't any.....

Great Idea!!
I love to see puppies...running they are really cute, so are they when they are sleeping.
Rainbows make me feel very hopeful for better days.

People you see and hear via the media who do good. Who do the right thing.
Who stand up for what is right despite difficult reactions.
The uncle who steps in when his brother dies from cancer and raises his nieces and nephews.
Those who have heart and step up out of goodness of heart.
That restores my faith in humanity.
Stuff like that.

The athlete who collapses at the end of the race such is the effort - whether s/he has won or lost.
The child that is less able than his / her friends, but tries and tries and gets there.
My youngest son, who, having had around 50 swimming lessons over several years, has recently managed to actually put his face in the water ... more than once and now wants to go 'swimming' every week because I ignored the swimming lessons, took him in with no float or arm bands, and managed to get him to realise a stick will float and a stick doing dog paddle really does move forwards a bit. He is a perfect stick.
A couple of young physically disabled lads where I used to work, who did a sponsored swim to try to get cash for a minibus for outings for the rest of their friends. One nick named himself 'Bob' because he felt it described his swimming style.
Between themselves, they achieved around 50 widths of the local pool in almost as many hours. The thing that really made me happy was that one of the lads had not been able to get to a pool for years - no minibus, no drivers, no help. When he got in the water he realized he could stand on his own feet whilst in the water - an achievement he had never experienced before. He was 36 years old.
Armchair aerobicss to music and watching those who have not exercised for years join in and have a giggle. One lady even exercised her amputated leg in fits of laughter.
Fund raisers that work - or not. I remember a mature lady being given the task of collecting money from children having a go on the unridable bicycle despite protesting her eyesight was poor and she couldd not 'do' money.
She had a float of £10 in change, and was ecstatic 2 hours after opening, to have been the first to use up her float! The children had realised she was no good with cash, and literally queued round the park for a go. They gave her 50p and she gave them £1.00 change until all her cash was gone. The little monkeys! A wonderful sunny day with the right result for all because other events made enough cash anyway.
There's so much really, isn't there ...

your right, alwin there is so much!! it is just that we spend our life rushing around, focussing on our our troubles etc, and even though we see things that may give us pleasure we dont take the time to notice it!! if we would spend a minute focussing on these positive things as well, our lives will be happier places:p

I feel happy when.... I hear my Hubbys Key in the door.
When my little boy comes running out of school.
When i am by the sea at cornwall.
When i achieve something that i didn't feel i could
do
When i help someone less able than myself.....
I could go on:) This is a good thread !! it makes you focus on the good.
Thanks Shelley !!

ok, i have another really random one...
any of you read teh book pollyana!?!?! really old classic... saw it lying around in house this week, and read it over weekend!! it is a typical example of how to look at life from a positive angle, despite pain and hardship! it describes it all so simply that it makes you think that obviously you should look at life through "glad eyes"... if you haven't read it, please do, it's really an eye opener...
have a good one

I feel good when I can just look outside in my own little place in the world and see the beautiful creation God has made. Just me and God. It makes me know that not matter what I'm feeling here and now, there will be so much more beauty to enjoy "someday" :)
I thought I would share a picture I took last week of where I live. Maybe you will enjoy it too :)

Hi All,
I hadn't replied to this before because so many things make me happy that I didn't know what to say but I think I have a beginning...
Colour and music.
Let me explain, For a certain time I lived in a world which was ok but kind of black and white (nothing against black and white photos - I love them) and then someone I met put the colour back in there. Just the right person to bring me back to myself, I had got lost (for reasons too various to go into - none to do with lupus) and everything was just sort of on the same line. No ups, no downs just the same....makes me shudder to think. I still say to that friend "Thank you for the colour".
Then music because it just makes me feel so good. If I feel down I play it REALLY loud and at times it can make me burst with happiness.
