the m50 is closed coz it's flooded, my dad got stuck there and has now been turned round so he's travelling the wrong way along the motorway back to the m5. his collegue on the m5 has moved 8 miles in the past 2 hours. the flooding all over is terrible. people have had to be rescued from homes in barry which is about an hour away from me, although we aren't that bad here. it's just been raining semi-heavily all day.

I can't believe this is actually July. I'm sitting here with my heating on!

My Hubby was complaining a few weeks ago that we were still using the 15 tog winter quilt so I switched it to the 4.5 tog summer one. Guess what, he wants the winter one on again as we are so cold!!!!

I've never seen this amount of rain before at this time of year.

Hope everyone stays warm & reasonably dry.

Hugz,

Pam xxx

An hour's torrential downpour with well over an inch of rain in some places. A 100 year record apparently. Luckily we are on fairly high ground right here but there was flooding nearby in the valley of a stream.

We haven't needed our heating on because it's been rather close, but from the other angle we still have our winter duvets on and have only needed the fans a couple of times this year, earlier in the week.

I can't say I mind the cool and cloudy bit, but this much wet is crazy.

I am sorry about that you all are having horrible weather. Here in sunny California we have drought conditions. We didn't get enough rain in the last couple of years. We could use some rain(not flooding) and I would welcome it, along with some cool weather.
I hope you all are safe. I hope the weather changes before too much damage is done.

Hugs,
Becca

It's a pile of old rubbish, this weather - it really is.

I've just popped in for a coffee break trailing water and mess everywhere I go.

Today I have no option to dig in slutch whilst being ripped apart by Pyracanthus shrubs I'm using to keep unwanted children out of my garden. It's a steep bank, I keep sliding down it, and I seem to be digging hardcore.

I want to go away somewhere sunny right now.

Hope everybody who is flooding or roasting is taking good care.

Sorry you guys across the big pond are having such awful weather:( . I can't help but wonder if global warming is playing a role in it. I hope you all get some sunny warm breezes and warmth soon. Sending you all warm, gooey, fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies, guaranteed to chase away the chills:lol:

My sister lives in Tewkesbury, they've got it bad there.
There's 2 houses that have totally disappeared under water. The news described Tewkesbury as an island, there's no way in and no way out. There was helicopter rescues going on all night.
The water level at her boyfriends house had reached the first floor.
The water supply is expected to run out later today.

Changeing the subject, my sister has had a blood blister appear on her toe and nose. She has probable lupus , would this be linked do you think?
She telephoned this morning and said she was going to pop the one on her nose because it was quite big.I did say not to and told her to take a photo and show it to rheumy next month.Do you think she should try to see a doctor sooner?
