I so know how you feel...when we bought our house we went to one of the biggest insurance firms in the uk...

hubby no prob,me ?....welllll they wrote off to my GP and i gpt a letter back a few weeks later saying so sorry we cant insure you...

I did ring them and they were lovely but basically they said no way..

the only thing I can suggest is that you try one of those insurance firms that insures without a medical - the only problem is that they tend to be more expensive. If you can take out the mortgage on hubbies income alone then they should accept it, but if they need yours then you are screwed unless you can get it somehow.

I managed to get mortage repayment insurance a zillion years ago though I had to go through several firms, but I know I wouldn't get it now (they have tightened up). I was able to refinance my mortgage without touching my repayment insurance so phew, I squeaked through there. But these days I have a lot of collateral in my house and a very small mortgage, which makes things a bit easier as the bastards could always just sell my house ! Funny really, the bank loves me in terms of my mortgage, but I am so broke I am always hanging out til next payday to go and buy groceries if you know what I mean. Some of us look better on paper than in reality
