My mum has applied for disability living allowance for me as i'm really having a bad time at the moment with my lupus and my feet problems with so very painful joints :mad:
well it was sent off and we have had a reply and it said we are looking into it and may need more infomation. since i was first diagnased things have got a lot worse for me :( and the last time i see my rh dr he has put me on steriods planquil think thats how it spelt and 4 others, well i have been on them a month now and im still feeling no better im still waking up during the nite unable to move coz the pain is so intence all my joints are so very painful.to which i cant go back to sleep with this then keeps my poor mum up aswell. showering i cant do as it hurts so much to use my wrists and for getting my hair washed well whats left of it as i have lose some now,my mum has to do it all for me, and help me get dressed.
even to now i find it hard to hold a drink coz my wrists are so painful.
how long do these people take to make a desicion on my claim, will i get a visit or will it go on what my gp says to which is one of these dr to whom says lupus is nothing not such a condition. or will it be my rh dr or who

any info would be great its been 2 months now from the form going away

Hey Spongebob,

I don't know how long it takes for a DLA application to be proccessed, but I think it can take a while sometimes. I'm sure someone will come along who knows more about it!

Sorry to hear you've been feeling worse though... :hugbetter:

I think the best thing to do would be to let your rheumy know how you're doing. Maybe your meds need changing or you need stronger painkillers until plaquenil kicks in (which can take up to 6 months) or even something to help you sleep straight through the night, as a good night's sleep is necessary when we're unwell...

I am just about to have my DLA reviewed, having professional help with the form filling next week, as I get so confused with the questions. So I wish you all the best with the outcome for you. It can take up to 3 months for them to reach a decision. I hope you hear soon.

it can depend on how long it takes them to get the information out of the relevent people. You could try phoning them and finding out the staus of your application, but if you recieve the dla, you will get the money backdated to them being in receipt of your application
