new problem-please help

:shrug: Hi there, can anyone tell me how to put my private messages into folders and save them? If they get sent to me, how does that work.? Thank you bunches.:wink2:

I have tried putting PM's into folders but I can't get it to work, sorry.
When my mail box gets 90% full I simply delete the ones that there's no longer any point saving to get back to about 80%. Every now and then I have a radical purge

I don't think you can put your PMs into folders. I just delete some of my PMs when my inbox reaches 90% too, to bring it down to about 70-80%!

On the old forum we could send them to ourselves in an email, is that still possible? I couldnt work out how to do it with this new server.

You can put pm's into folders.
Click edit folders

Give your new folder a name

Click the save folder button. You now have a new folder:)

Then go into your inbox or sent box, Check the pm you want to move into your new folder.

Go to the bottom of the inbox. It should say "move to folder." Then click that.

Then a window will show up "move private messages" choose the folder you want it in.(if you have more than one folder) Then click move items. Then it will be in your new folder.:)

The pms in your folder still count on the number of pms you can have.

The only way I can figure how to get your pm to your private email is, copy it then go to your email. Paste it in a new message and send it to yourself. Then you can store it in your folders on your email.

I think I have to much time on my hands to figure this stuff out.:eek::p:lol:

Lyn thank you so much - it really does work! I had been doing it the wrong way round - I set up the file but didn't see how to get messages into it. Very duh.


I think you can file private messages by using the 'download all private messages' function at the bottom right below the messages and above forum jump.
I used the 'text' option, 'saved', and got a notepad called charmingly private message dump. Somehow I managed to retrieve it in my files.

I don't know what the options other than 'text' mean
