Received an email yesterday saying all users need to visit the site and reset passwords by clicking on the sites' forgotten password link in order to use the new software the site has installed. This true??

I will have to check with the admin of the board, mea. I haven't had an email.

The mods have been having truly frustrating problems with the site, particularly the UK mods for some reason; so it may be another glitch....we will await the administrators response Mea.....

Hi Mea, the admin have said that the only way to know if the email was genuine or not was if you sent it to them. If you want to sort that out, just inbox either myself or any of the mods and we can sort that for you.

Just a suggestion, Mea along with Deb's sound advice, and I'm sorry if this doesn't help....if you hover your mouse / cursor over the 'sender' of the email without opening it, it should show in a little window by the cursor the name of the sender. If this doesn't match the lupus email, it is probably spam. e.g. I sometimes get spam emails that look like they're from the bank but if I hover the mouse over the name that looks the same as the bank email address, it shows something completely different. It might be worth you trying this...unless I've just caused confusion!

Thanks for all the info guys. I checked the message and sender is [email protected]. Since I'm not having any problem signing in and no one else has gotten this I think I will just leave it alone, but thanks for checking into it.

And thank you, Mea for posting it. Other members will hopefully learn from your message and it's good that you asked rather than just responded to it. Sorry we haven't been able to confirm from the administrators yet but I think it's safe to say you've done the right thing.

I haven't posted on here for a while because I have been locked out of the site. It was saying my email was spam and requests for a new password were blocked. Also had problems with contacting Joanne as several emails were returned saying my email was spam!

This morning I had an email saying this would be the sites final contact and I managed to sign in no problem.

Is Joanne's contact still current, for future glitches? I do wonder if we have lost members in the UK because of problems getting on the site, which would be a shame I myself have been coming on for well over fifteen years.

    Gosh Keebler,

That is a shock! There were so many of us around in the earlier days and never realised that Joanne had sold the site!
But obviously she would have had her reasons, does she come on here any more?
    Regards
    Ann

    One for the Mods.
I can no longer see how you private message someone, so posting query on here.

If you click on Notable Members you are able to see that persons private messages which can't be right can it?
Thought I'd bring it to your attention.

Also in the event of not being able to get onto the board and Joanne's email no longer being in use is this likely to be updated, or what should one do, many thanks.

    Ann

Hi guys, I too got an email saying the site had some improvements and that I now needed to go in and change my password.

As I've been hacked a couple of times in the past, could you please confirm if this email is legitimate?

    Thanks

The Administrator did not contact me about an update or changing passwords.
