Hi sorry but i'm feeling a bit low.

I had a nerve conductivity test yesterday supposedly to confirm carpal tunnel, possible ulna nerve problems and to see the severity of the condition. Well after being shocked (uncomfortable but not painful) and tiny needles placed all over the conclusion was "there is nothing wrong with your nerves!"

yes its good news and means i dont have to go for surgery on wrists but now i'm back to square one with symptoms of pain, stiffness and numbness in my fingers, wrists and arms. i thought at least this problem had been dx'd. Like everything else i still have no answers!

Could i have arthritis, surely they would have ruled this out first. My CRP is raised and i had a low positive ANA 1:80 speckled pattern.liver playing up a bit but am overweight. High BP last 184/119, most other tests normal.
I do have sleep apnea and slight Raynauds.GERD, urticaria cause unknown, achilles tendonitis, plantar fascilitis.
Am stiff and sore in many more joints and muscles.Fatigue which is a little better since being on CPAP machine. As many of you know i've been suffering for many years now with different dx's throughout this time like mild lupus, lupus like just to have them taken away again. I know a name shouldnt matter but i dont get any treatment apart from pain killers that dont work well, BP meds that dont seem to be working and on CPAP machine.
I am fed up with hurting all the time and am worried that if it is autoimmune then will it be getting worse without treatment.

Sorry i suppose these are questions for my dr's.

thanks for reading.

Thanks Lolalola for your quick response.
However the Dr preforming tests was pretty sure all test results were normal. She did say that perhaps i had a very mild form of carpal tunnel but that would not explain the bad symptoms. My hands go completely numb all be it very painful!
Never mind something will fess up in the end be it in my head or real!

Thanks again

Hi Netty,

I understand that this all must be very frustrating. I went through my share of doc frustration and "normal" tests ((((((((hugs)))))))) to you.

I am wondering possibly about that idea of arthritis. I do have arthritis in my hands and fingers and this came as a huge "surprise" to me. I had had x-rays everywhere and nothing ever showed up but shortly after starting with my rheumy she decided to do an "all over" ultrasound. It clearly showed that all my tendons were inflamed and had calcium deposits on them AND that I had arthritis in my hands.

My hands go numb at night and become very painful. It almost feels as if the blood supply has been cut off but my fingers etc. look fine if I look at them. I have periods where this is less (like now) and others where it is worse. No-one really knows what causes that pain (as I also have peripheral neuropathy) and I don't have carpal tunnel. I still find that wearing the carpal tunnel wrist braces at night helps a lot as I used to always bend my wrists over on themselves making the pain a lot worse and doing no good to my wrists.

Sorry I can't help more,
hugs

Netty, I may be well off beam here, but I wondered if you get much fluid retention. I understand that sometimes this can affect the nerves in the wrists.
Sometimes it happens to pregnant women.

Do wrist splints help you at all? They can be quite good, especially if you get the slightly better ones. Not too expensive either.

Netty,
It's okay we are here for you. I understand that you just want answers as to why this is all going on and medicines to help you get through the day. I think I would convey to the doctor that something is wrong and you understand that you are back to the beginning again but you have to have answers. The bp seems a little hight to me so please watch that. You may need to see a specialist if you are not already just a thought. I hope you feel better soon.

netty, can't add much more than has already been said except please don't give up. You clearly have something going on, keep going back until they find the root cause.

wish there was something more comforting I could add. I have been where you are ((((( netty )))))

Thank you all for your advice and kind words. I'm more upbeat now i suppose i just thought that some of my symptoms were finally gonna get a dx. Doesnt matter.
Another strange thing happening today and i feel like a right hypercondriact. I have a pain in my neck that sorta feels like someone has grabbed me around the wind pipe. No sore throat but tongue kinda feels swollen on one side, at the back. Thought it maybe a gland issue?neck hurts to touch and when i move my head. not bad pain but kina bruised like. will giveit a few days if does not go will see doctor!!!!

Thanks again
