I'm afraid I can't offer any advice. Like Joan, my levels have never gone anywhere near that, especially as thyroid levels are routinely checked here in Belgium. My Mum had extraordinarily high TSH when they discovered she was hypothyroid. It had never been checked despite how bad she had been feeling for years and when the doc that checked it found out he told her that by rights she should be bed ridden if not in a coma
So yes, it does slow your body down and you do need to make sure that treatment works fast.
