Hi Sandra,

Let us know how you make out after you get home from the appointment and good luck too.

She may not be able to say it is Lupus however she may see enough abnormalities in your blood work to place you on medicine so that you can get on with feeling better.

Keep us posted and take a deep breath. I know your anxious and it is no fun to be in limbo land, that is for sure.

I am the sam Doris. I hope you get the answers you need. some things may help if your prepared.

Make a note of all of your symptoms in the last 3 months, and take that with you. if you can leave it with the doc.

They may ask you when it all started so try and write a timeline and put a few of your worst/most dibilitating symptoms in there. If poss leave that too.

Most of all plz remember these dr's who specialise in Lupus aren't trying to catch you out so try and tell them as much as poss even if it doesn't seem relevant to you...

best of luck, let us know the minute you get in the door how it went lol,

Thanks,
I have copies of all the tests, copies of lists of symptoms that i have now and in the past, i really don't think i have left anything out.
My hubbie is going to be there as well, and i'm hoping that he will let her know anything i've forgotten to mention,
And as you all know, when i have my Lupus head on, i can hardly remember my own name, let alone what happened 5 years ago.
Thank you All, for your support it trully helps.
I will post as soon as poss on thursday.

Hello Sandra :)

Even now, two years after my final diagnosis, I still get nervous every time I have to go and see the rheumy. Here's some hugs to help along the way :grouphug2:

It's a great idea to take hubby as well as writing things down.

As Karol said, you may not be getting definitive answers tomorrow but if you're on the right track then that's great.

hugs again  and keep us posted,
Katharine

Hiya.. have a good consultation tomorrow. Be totally honest about your pain, do not do the typical coping female thing and smile too much and play down the symptoms... let them know exactly how you are and have been. The others have given good advice and taking notes of your previous symptoms is a good one. This is a step forward to finding out what is going on, but it may be a while before they can give you any definitive answers so be prepared for this and try not to be too despondent if it seems to be soooo slow moving! As long as they are listening and running some relevant tests to start building up a picture of your health you will get there and if a decent Rheumy it will hopefully be sooner rather than later. All the best, will think of you.... go get em! :hehe:

Hi Sandra

I think we have all been there at some stage or another.

It is stressful as so much hangs on the appointment.

By the time your reading this you probably have your answers.

Just remember either way , you know there is something wrong and so from that stance keep jabbing away at trying to get answers.

Ive felt huge frustrations but looking back....Im glad im now 'looking back'.

Will be interested to know how you got on
