Hi Peta,

 Considering the seriousness of your disease, your vasculitis etc. and the fact you have been on a fairly new treatment in Rituxan I really think that your docs would want to know ASAP that you are bleeding from the bowel. It could be something as benign as hemorrhoids or on the more very serious scale could be from the Vasculitis. But either way its essential you contact them and tell them. I understand you find it embarrassing however they won't blink an eye believe me, that's what they are there for :wink2: I would contact your specialist rather than your GP if thats possible and the sooner the better.

Sending hugs and let us know how you get along.

:) Hi Peta, welcome, I understand your embarassment, but there are some things that should not wait. First, yes, the meds that we take do mess with our bowels, I am in a terrible wway, movement-wise. But, peta, anytime that you see blood, please call your specialist,.we never know wether it is serious or simple. Call, and then let us know
how you did. And, be sure to tell the dr. how long this has been going on. Be well.:wink2:

Hi Peta,

Please dont wait to share this information with your doctor. Any time you see blood in your bowel for more than 1 day, it needs to be checked. As Lily said, it could be something as simple as hemmhorroids or polyps but you wont know until you see your specialist.

I had bleeding from the bowel, and it turned out to be ulcerative colitis. My doctor said my colon looked like someone burned holes in it with a cigar..lovely image huh? but after a few years of meds, I have been problem free.

Dont be embarrased, your doctor will not give it a second thought!

Good luck,
Sharon

Hi what everyone said was good advice,

Just to mention, I have slow transit time-with auto immune problems and was diagnosed with crohns in 2004

My daughter with CNS Lupus, since her serious flare in July she has suffered sever constipation and multible hospital stays from severe constiption and is on heavy laxitives and mineral oil till she is out of flare and closely followed by GI at Sick Kids

I asked Rhemy is Lupus was affecting her colon(she has slow transit time) they said it was definitely a possibility.
