Has anyone ever tried topical arnica or tree tea oil for arthritic pain? Unfortunately, I cannot take NSAIDs, and lately, nothing else seems to be effective for me. I know better than to rely on only lesser-researched solutions, but I'm hoping they might make a difference.

Hi there,

I haven't tried either of those but I do use Tiger Balm sometimes and it is great for sore joints and muscles. I believe others here have used BenGay as well with some success.

Thanks, Lily. I never thought of Tiger Balm...does it just take the edge off the pain, or does it help eliminate it? The tree teal oil seems to take the edge off, but I never really know because the pain can be variable. The odour (similar to Tiger Balm) is quite the nuisance though.

Hi,

I think it takes the edge off, it's certainly soothing, but you are right it's a bit stinky :hehe: The price we pay for a bit of comfort eh?

Bio-freeze works good for me. It doesn't smell bad either, after a minute or so you don't even smell it.

Take care,
Lyn
