On Sunday I start to bleed (12 weeks) hubby called a ambulance and to cut a long story short(new hospital dont know what it is doing) I was sent up to the early pregnancy unit and had a scan,my baby is fine and the docs can find no cause for the bleeding. It's like having a period with absolutely no pain.I was wondering if this has happend to anyone else?

Hi Sue,

Take care and rest (no stress) lots the bleeding hopefully will not happen again! Sometimes these things happen I'm told, but it does not make us worry less! I aways felt that hospital staff were not very caring, but I suppose they deal with same situations day in day out!

When I was pregnant with my 3rd child I started bleeding at 24 weeks right up until end of a full term pregnancy (I had 3rd beautiful cheeky boy!).

I used to have one good week and then flu symptoms then I'd start to bleed not heavily). I'm not sure how many times I had to go into hospital but the general bloods that they did never discovered anything (they never did extra investigative bloodwork)! I used to think that it happened because I was vomiting so much, my BP was also very high.

Did they take bloods as well? Do you know which one's they did? Maybe it will put your mind at rest knowing that important levels in bloods have not changed!

Take care try to carry on with life as normal and let us know how things go!

Hi Sue,

With my first pregnancy, I had some dark staining around the 10-12 week mark. I read every book and checked every website I could find, and realized some people bleed through their entire pregnancy...and its normal!

I would try to stay off your feet as often as possible, get them up on some pillows up toward your heart level. My staining never came back, and the doctors told me it could have been from my ligaments and uterus stretching. Just keep an eye on it.

I hope you continue to have a healthy pregnancy and enjoy the wonder of it all. I am just a little ahead of you at 17 weeks, and starting to feel some rumbling and tumbling in there. It is such a wonderful feeling!

Have a great day & stay well!!

Hi Sue,

Glad to hear you are doing okay, it must have been scary for you. I bled but it was more like spotting, (very early on, can't remember exactly how far on I was) and from all my reading and feverish research this is normal, some women experience this throughout their pregnancies on and off. My dr told me if I bleed AND have cramps, severe backache, vomiting or fainting as well then to come in to the hospital, but even then this may not necessarily be a cause for concern.

I think the most important thing is to rest and *try* not to worry too much, you don't need the stress! Listen to your body, I'm finding mine tells me what it needs. (At 30 weeks, it's funny how often it says 'warm milk and choc chip cookies'... :rotfl: )

Take good care of yourself, and I'm sending you and everyone else here positive vibes and hugs

Thank you all for your replys :flowery:

I have now stopped bleeding it only lasted for about 2 days (about the same as my period would have).

I was due to go to St Tom's on Monday but rang and told them what had happend and that I was not up to the long train ride she said she would have a word with my doc and get back to me.I am due to go to my local hospital this Monday comming for a scan and antenatal appointment so its not as if I am not being looked after. To have a scan on my birthday will be the best present ever.

To hear from others who have been through the same thing and had happy outcomes puts my mind at rest a bit more, thank you x x

Hi Sue Mac,

I too had some bleeding when I was pregnant. In fact I bled a little every month until around 5 months just as I would have done if I had not been pregnant. The only difference was it was lighter. Thankfully I knew that this could happen and so didn't panic but it is worrying. Also, I wasn't diagnosed then so didn't have the additional worry that you have.

I hope everything goes well from now on,
hugs and stuff,
Katharine
