I really don't know very much about this as I don't suffer from blefaritis but it sounds very much as if there could be more going on here than "simple" blefaritis and that your symptoms may be being caused by your DLE and being mistaken for blefaritis. As many docs know little or nothing about things like DLE they may not even be aware that that is a possiblity. Do you see a dermatologist regularly? Are you satisfied with the level of control of your DLE or has it got worse recently?
It sounds like getting a second opinion on your DLE and possibly some med adjustments might be well worthwhile.
