Hi all

Wondered if anyone has this.. have been on methotrexate for about a year or so and currently on 17.5mg weekly.. over the last 6 months my esr has been steadily coming down now down to about 30-40.. but my c-reactive protein has increased ,now to 10..

Does anyone else have information on c-reactive protein being raised.?. I've looked up on internet but mainly comes back with info on heart issues.

oh i should also mention that i have something between lupus and rheumatiod arthritis , and I get localised steroid shots as and when I get too many problems..

Any feedback much appreciated, thanks

Hi Sharon,

Sorry I can't enlighten you too much on this issue, I did find this link for you which explains a bit more about raised CRP. My late husband had RA and I remember at times he had very high CRP yet his ESR was falling and we were never sure why.

thank you Lily for your reply.. and the link

I have had weight loss since my crp increase (much needed , but still, probably not healthy!) so maybe i'm just in another flare

I already feel very supported joining this site and meeting everyone, and am learning so much more about whats going on with me than a hundred visits to docs/rheumys, not so much their fault just dont feel able to ask about much at my appointments.

Anyway , enough rambling from me .. thanks again for info

Take care
