Hi Meriel,

I have not read this book so can't judge it on it's content, but I wouldn't personally waste my money on it. The old addage really is true, that if it looks too good to be true, then it probably isn't. Of course I'm only guessing about the book trying to flog some 'miracle' - maybe it is just the story of someone who experienced a long remission?

Sorry to dissapoint you but there isn't any cure for lupus. Some people do go into remission however, and even without remission modern treatment is pretty effective, so there is always hope that you won't always suffer as much as you currently do with lupus. The best tried and tested method of living the best quality of life is following your medication regime and doctors advice.

Hello Meriel

You have put your finger on it - " too good to be true".
I haven't read it because, the easiest way to put it, is I don't believe in all this detox and diet cure and "think yourself" well stuff.
Yes, diet can help relieve symptoms, yes attitude is important, as is mind, body, spirit, harmony and yes they can help enormously towards healing in the deepest sense of the word. But a cure ( which is what she is claiming in fact) ? I think not!

I suppose I also think that people who have the answers should share freely with other lupus sufferers & not make money out of their unproven theories which could result in people becoming very seriously ill.
It's wrong, very wrong to my mind

Take care

Hi Meriel,

I have not read the book but can't believe that there is a cure we don't know about or that the doctors don't know about. It has been told to me by illinformed people that lupus can be cured. My reply to them is just this: If there is a cure my doctors don't know about it and if they do they are not sharing the cure with the site I go to. I guess the doctor just likes my complaining at every visit and would rather see me and listen to the complaints instead of getting rid of me by curing me. lol. I don't mean to make fun of the cure but unless there is one I don't want to talk about it, would rather be in the real world.
