I have been having shortness of breath for a long time been dx'd with asthma(so they say) I've also have pleurisy flares off and on for about a year. I've started to get an overall feeling of my whole right lung feeling like it's infected kinda especially when I'm flaring, it hurts so bad I can't sleep on my back or right side. The pain is on my right side of my chest in the front and back under my shoulder blade. I've had chest xray/ct scan and echo and all are normal, my pulmonary dr has now done a sleep study test, which I'm sure won't show much, but at least it's a test to r/o something. The pain also goes into my neck and shoulder. It hurts when I take a deep breath as well just as pleurisy would. I'm thinking I may have interstitial lung disease as I've done some research and some people have had the same prob's and they only way to get it finally dx'd is to do a lung bx. However, now I have a new symptom and I'm not sure if it's related to the above or my SLE, breast tenderness, it feels like it does before your monthly. It's been going on for about 2 1/2 mo's it only stopped when I went on prednisone.

I can't advise you medically but I sure would feel better if you saw your doctor again. Tell him about your new symptom. Since the prednisone was helping you it makes me wonder if your problem is related to inflammation in some way.

I agree with Jessee..................is this inflammation????

I also think you should mention this to your doctor.

I have had similar issues with the breast and no longer get the monthly.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.:wink2:
