Hi sparky,

That's excellent news you are getting such relief from the Celebrex :woohoo:

I'm not on that particular anti-inflammatory but a different one and I wouldn't be without it :)

There a quite a few here on it though and it's proven to be very helpful to them.

love

Hiya, before and during diagnosis I was on celebrex but it had little, if any effect for my joint pain etc... I know others have found it very helpful though, I guess it just wasn't for me.The other thing it did was raise my Liver enzymes, which are now back to normal since stopping. You probably have LFTs done when your regular bloods are done so can keep an eye on any changes... they weren't irreversible. I am so glad you have found something that helps relieve your pain, that is a big help. :)

Hi Sparky -

I take Celebrex and I find that it gives me great relief from aches and pains. It also allowed me to get off pred (well Celebrex and Plaquenil).

I recently changed rheumatologists though and my new doctor said that I really shouldn't be taking Celebrex more than three times a week. I think this was because of the effects on liver enzymes that Claire referred to.

But in answer to your question - Celebrex has helped me tremendously and I'm glad that you are getting relief from it.

Hope this helps

I am on celebrex for pleuritic pain and so far has kept things under control for me. I have a history of serositis. Last summer I had a serious case of pericarditis. They increased my prednisone to 80 mg, but it didn't work. Eventually they gave me indomethacin which helped. Normally I can't take NSAIDs because I'm on coumadin. However, they said it would be okay short term. Since then they changed the indomethacin to celebrex because it doesn't affect my platlets. They also switched me from methotrexate to imuran. So, for the first time in 3 years, my serositis has been under control with the imuran and celebrex. So, I hope you have the same results.
