cold feet

Hello,

I have the same thing at the moment, my feet are so cold and also feel wet even though they are not. I have socks and slipper boots on and my feet still feel freezing.

I have been told i have raynaurds and it sounds to me that you do to, it also appears to be very common to have it when you have lupus.

I find outting my feet in warm, not boiling hot water then drying quickly and putting warm socks, slippers on helps.

hi there

do you feet change colour ? Pink, purple, white ? With reynauds there is skin discolouration as the vasospasm of the arteries cut off the supply of blood. As the hand foot warms up then it pinks up. If you do have the discolouration thing going on then it is likely reynauds (but talk to the doctor), but if you don't then you may just have cold feet (cold hands/or in your case feet, warm heart :)

my husband reckons I am the only person he knows who can get into bed with warm feet and within 10 minutes they are like blocks of ice, so on go the sexy socks. I have always got cold hands and feet, they get so cold at times they ache.

In response to Birdie, my husband says the same thing. I cant sleep w/socks on...must be some sort of ocd thing. But my feet are icicles. He doesnt like when i try to cuddle w/him when we're sleeping because my entire body (except feet and hands) is like a wood stove and then my feet touch him and they're freezing. StRaNgE?!? I dont have Raynauds but my doctor always checks and asks how things are in my feet and hands just to watch out for it.

My feet were so cold last night I wrapped them in a heating pad for a while when I first got in bed. Verapamil has helped the past two years but I'm not currently on it. Doc did give me a script in case the Raynauds gets real bad.

It's not even November yet. We'll see.

Haha I saw this post just as I was whinging about how wet and cold my feet feel! Yes, reynauds is a common cause. I have some scarring on my feet from when I put them under a radiator, and didn't realize they were touching because they were numb from cold. I am the oposite, I can't sleep WITHOUT socks, but they don't always help. Heating pads are good, and running them under lukewarm water. Not hot water, cuz that'll just burn. Do your hands/fingers get unreasonably cold, too?

Hi,

Raynaud's can affect more than the feet. It can also affect the hands, nose, ears and nipples. Since the weather is turning I suggest you break out the hats, scarves, gloves and socks.

Take care,

I suffer from reynauds. Can be frustrating, especially when you run a nice hot bath, which seems a reasonable temperature for your hands and then you climb in and it feels like someone has poured a kettle over your feet! lol

You get used to it tho, few pairs of slipper socks and some fluffy gloves! :)

I've tried everythig to keep warm, the best for me is just putting on at least two pair of very thick socks and covering them with a blanket. Im waiting on my results back. They did a (arterail dopler and cartoid dopler) I dont know if I spell them right, but basically to see If I have any clots and to see about my balance.

I have raynauds...seems to be a friend of Lupus! My mum found me some pretty thermal socks (most of them seem to be for the older generation!) But i now have some with pretty hearts on! And they look like normal socks!

For hands i have silver lined gloves that are especially for raynauds - they work for me bt i've heard they dont work for everyone and i also have these hand warmers that are pockets of liquid and when you trigger the metal disc inside them it starts a chemical reaction and heats up the liquid turning it to solid.

Oh- and hot water bottles! Hope this helps anyone!
