Golly, how worrying for you on top of how your feeling too!

Have you been able to speak to your Mum in the hospital!

I have no idea whether it could be connected to Lupus just wanted to send you big hugs:hug:!

On the less serious side I have coughed up blood just from over coughing and rupturing the vessels! I have also had blood with acid reflux which I will be seeing the Gasto Specialist about! My Mum has had blood with her ulcer and had meds to help/heal and just has to be careful with other meds taken (e.g. NSAID's).

Perhaps they will put a camera down to investigate!

Anyway, I hope your Mum is feeling a bit better now and try not to worry!

Love Lesley

Hey Julsie,

I'm sorry to hear about your mum being unwell at the moment... :(

I don't know if coughing up blood happens in lupus patients, but it certainly can happen to aps patients who've clotted in their lungs (or had a PE from another clot in their body) or to people without aps who've clotted somewhere. Of course there are a million different reasons why someone could be coughing up blood (chest infection, small ruptured blood vessel etc etc etc), it's just that you mentioned your mum is visiting Australia at the moment and long flights are definitely a risk factor for clots. Does your mum have lupus? APS? Do you know if she's had a V/Q scan or a CT pulmonary angiogram?

It's very good that your mum is in the hospital at the moment, that's where she needs to be! I hope all her tests go ok and that she feels better very soon!!! Sending both of you loads of hugs :grouphug2: :grhug:

Hi julsie

I am so sorry your mum is in hospital, but it is definitely the best place to be at the moment.
I wish your mum lot's of luck with her tests & I hope she feels better soon.

try not to worry too much though julsie,I know that's easier said than done.

that's an interesting theory about your mum having lupus, especially if she has always experienced health problems,it's certainly worth investigating.

please keep us updated julsie
hugs to you both :grhug: karen x

Hi Julsie, I hope your mom is feeling better very soon, I've had that scope down my throat and it wasn't too bad and figured out what the problems were. You and your mom will be in my thoughts. Karly:hug:
