Hi everyone,

Has anyone else any knowledge of this drug? My rheumatologist is still "mapping" my disease and has some suspicion about my chronic abdominal pain (shown on Gastroscopy and colonoscopy as "unexplained gastritis and microscopic collitis"). My problem is simple. It really hurts. My GP gave me Azor and Librax, but although the azor was great with my mood control, the librax is useless. Then he gave me Rivotril and said it would sort it. Useless. The Rheumatologist gave me colofac because she is concerned about the stomach and talking about scleroderma. Still no good. Finally I asked my gp yesterday and said "Look, if you guys have some big guns hiding in the cupboard, now would be a really good time to bring them out!!!! I am sore and I am a lunatic! he has prescribed Cymbalta to add to the Rivotril until it kicks in. Anyone know anything about this drug and will it help me?

Thanks

Hi:

I take Cymbalta, and likenit to a Godsend. It doesn't so much help with the pain, howevder it does help with the moods ad that makes it easier for my pain med to work...at least I think that's what it does for me.

All I know is that ithout it I am down...not depressed as much as blue from dealing with the chronic pain and problems.

I won't give up my cymbalta.

It took about 6 weeks for me to see the positives, but it was worth the wait for me.

Everyone is different, I hope it helps for you!

I have been taking cymbalta for about a year now. I was taking prozac for a while and it seemed to help more with the depression and anxiety than the cymbalta but the cymbalta does not make me as tired. And that is a big deal for me because of the chronic fatique. I take 60mg a day and at one point my doc told me to try taking 2 60mg a day for awhile and see if it helps. I really couldn't tell a difference so I went back to one. However, if I miss more than two doses I have really bad headaches. I also stopped taking it for about two weeks to try lyrica and had some really bad gi issues (diarreah) but my doc wasn't sure if it was the lyrica or coming of the cymbalta. I like it because I have not had any side affects unless I forget to take it. But it will take a few weeks before you can really tell a difference.
God Bless,

I used to take Cymbalta and just loved what it did for me and how it helped.

The only reason I stopped taking it is because my insurance company decided for some un known reason to stop coverage on this drug and other too.

So now it is Lexapro for me yet Cymbalta was a great drug.

Give it a shot and let us know how you get along. I think you will like how it will help you.:wink2:
