Hello there.

I know that title sounds strange but I have two symptoms to ask about .

First - I can't say I have a seizure because I haven't. But the only description I can come up logically is I feel like I am about to? I have no idea why I come up with that descpription since I never had one. Perhaps I am wrong but let me describe and you can let me know if you ever experience this?

I am at work and working on my computer, all of a sudden my vision goes into like a stare when you are dazing and I almost feel my brain moving or shaking but I know it isn't doing that . I take my attention away from the computer and feel all spacy and almost like I will either pass out or crash. Does that even logically make sense? It happens also when I am not on computer. Maybe I am going insane.:hehe:

The other thing is burning sensation on my buttock, one side. All of a sudden a burst of hotness covers the area and lasts about a few minutes. Off and on during the day, whether I am standing or sitting.

See what I mean? Craziness.

Hi Paula,

Crazy?? Then we all are.......... this is a crazy disease

With my seizures I don't know what I felt like because I was unaware I was having them. Sometimes before them I would smell something weird and no-one else could smell anything. It's usually bystanders that notice the seizure or ábsence' of course if it's a full blown seizure then it's really obvious. With my absence ones apparently I would stop talking or doing what I was doing and just stare. When I came around I would just start off where I left off oblivious that anything went wrong, maybe a little confused but that's it. If I had a lot or a bad one I got incredibly sleepy suddenly.

If I am really worn out and overtired however I can't sit at the computer long or it plays tricks with my eyes and brain, same with watching TV, reading or just concentrating on random anythings - I class that as different though and yes the symptoms sound similar to what you describe if I try and persist.

The burning butt :hehe: not sure on that one, I get a burning butt if I sit down for too long but that's pretty normal I think ;)

love

Hi Paula,
I haven't had the burning butt but I have had it happen on the calve of my leg. It will all of a sudden get very hot like I have a heating pad on it and it lasts just a few seconds.

I suppose it is just one of the weird nerve sensations I get. Once, I felt just like I had peed my pants..LOL. It was so shocking that I couldn't believe my eyes that my pants were really dry. I had to take them off to make sure! I have nerve involvement, so I suppose it all has to do with that.

I've also had the weird feeling, kinda like you describe...mine feels like I'm in a tunnel. I feel disoriented and spaced out for a little bit, almost like an out of body sensasion if that makes any sense. I don't tell many people about these things because I'm afraid they will think I'm nuts or that I'm making it all up.

Thank goodness we all have each other on here...cause WE all know that we're not crazy!

Hi Paula

Im sorry you are going through such a rough patch lately and I can only hope things settle down for you soon :hugbetter: I wonder if your 'burning butt' sensation could be paresthesia? It sounds very similar and can be caused by connective tissue disease. Here are a couple of links which you can have a look at.

http://neurology.health-cares.net/paresthesia-causes.php

http://www.healthatoz.com/healthato...ealthatoz/Atoz/ency/numbness_and_tingling.jsp

Mention it to your rheumy at the next appointment and keep a record of how often it happens and if you feel other areas of numbness in the meantime. I have Meralgia parasthetica which affects my left thigh and I get similar sensations to what you describe. They are not exactly the same thing but are similar in that they are caused by nerve compression.

I dont know about the 'spaciness' you describe. Does it happen at other times when you arent working at the computer? If you think it does, get your family members to keep an eye on you and see if they notice you having 'spacy' moments which you are unaware of. If they do record them and mention it to the doc. I hope whatever it is is transient and doesnt become too bothersome :hugbetter:

Luv n stuff

Hi Paula,
I definately experince the burning hot sensation, in fact I had it last night, its not always in my but, but I get in my upper and lower thighs but don't have an explanation for it. I found th libks helpful as I do have athritis of the spine.

I would mention it to your rheumy nect time you go. I do kind of understabd what you mean about the spacing out thing happening, as oyu know fro one of my other threads I have no explanantion for the neuro symtoms either as my doc thought these were down to tramadol. I definately think you should mention these things to rheumy or gp as particularly the neuro symptoms could be a awraning sign.

I hope you et to the bottom of things.

Take Care

Cassie :)
