I can't really go into details right now, but I'm mightily disappointed. The "study" is being conducted to gather information for the facilitator's doctoral dissertation. Information outside doesn't match info inside. I don't know if I will take part or not.

I'm tired and disappointed and have hurt like a son-of-a-gun these last two days. I ended up crying tonight when I got home.

So ...... back to status quo.

I don't really understand what is going on (a clincal trial you were hoping to take part in?), but you sound upset, so I wanted to give you a cyber hug

Dear Confused,

My rheumatologist said that labs do not always reflect what is going on inside, so hang in there.

Whatever this study is, they also might be looking for something specific that you are not going through right now. Try not to take it personally...research usually has to be strictly controlled, eliminating people who do not have the exact criteria they are looking to study. It doesn't mean you aren't suffering and don't have the condition you think you do.

Keep talking to your doctor. If you are interested in participating in research, I think there are sites on the web that list on-going studies. It's good, of course, to have support of your doctor, and sometimes you get free treatment and money for your time.

Hope you can let this perceived discrepancy roll-off your back. The stress is not worth it!
