I have APLS/Hughes syndrome and Lupus. This week my optician has told me I have had retinal haemorrhage from a blood clot. I take warfarin to prevent clots. I am concerned about this and the time it is taking for hospital to give me an "urgent" appointment i.e 5weeks. Especially since the problem is with my only "good" eye.
Wondering if anyone had a similar experience?

I have Lupus, but not Hughes syndrome. A few months back I had the same problem as you. During a routine eye examination my optician found that I had a small blood clot at the back of my eye and referred me to hospital. I was seen within 2 weeks by an eye specialist, who informed me that the clot must have dispersed (I suppose that meant it had burst) because it had gone completely. He gave my eyes a good going over, scans etc, and he found they were in good health. No problems since. 5 weeks is quite a long time to wait - could you ring the hospital to try and get in earlier, maybe they have cancelled appointments that you could use ?
Best of luck,
Eileen
